Game Mats crafted for every battlefield

Our game mats are gaming mats for wargames that depict a battlefield in all its devastating glory. Designed for miniature games, wargames, and board games, they feature numerous settings to suit any system or gaming need.

They go by many names: battlemat, playmat, gamemat, but the product is always the same, representing the terrain level, the ground on which scenic elements and miniatures are placed, or in the case of board games.

They are water-resistant, scratch-resistant, and anti-reflective. In no time, you unroll your mat and set up the battle; when finished, you roll it up and store it in its Combat Bag or wherever you want: it takes up little space and is almost indestructible!

Game mats are made in two different types of material:

  • Neoprene
  • PVC

NEOPRENE (mousepad)

Neoprene, or mousepad material, is our top-tier choice. It features a synthetic fabric surface that is wrinkle- and stain-resistant, with a non-slip rubber backing. It rolls up and lays perfectly flat on the table. The ultimate product. Thermal printing ensures vivid colors and exceptional contrast. Every neoprene game mat by Pwork Wargames is made in Italy.

PVC

PVC is a plastic material offering excellent value for money. High-resolution graphics are printed on 500g anti-reflective PVC (though it still has a slight sheen). To preserve it, it should be rolled up with the graphic side outwards so it stays flat once unrolled. It can be cleaned with just water and soap and is lighter than neoprene.

NEOPRENE: TOP OF THE LINE

Why is neoprene the ideal material for game mats?

The rubber on the back adds weight to the mat, so it lays flat without slipping, is wrinkle-resistant, and provides fantastic grip on the table. The sound of dice is muffled and the surface resists water stains; moreover, it does not reflect light, ensuring perfect photos or videos of your games every time!

High-resolution thermal printing

The ink is fused into the fabric thanks to thermal printing, so the colors stay sharp and vibrant for years of gaming. The mat is also theoretically welded for heavy use: no fraying, no cuts when moving scenic elements.

USER GUIDE

Both neoprene and PVC have excellent durability. To transport or store them at home or at your club, always keep them rolled up: they get damaged if folded, and folding is only possible for a limited time (a short transport or a few hours).

Neoprene game mats: store them rolled up in their box or in a Combat Bag; when not in use, lay them flat (under the bed or on a shelf), avoid keeping them vertical for long periods. PWORK neoprene mats are made with high-quality rubber that maintains excellent elasticity, so they won’t develop creases or other defects.

PVC game mats: keep them rolled up with the graphic side outwards so that when unrolled they stay perfectly flat. For convenience, we recommend using a Combat Bag to protect them from dust. Our suggestion is to store them vertically.

Here are some general guidelines for use:

  1. Roll up, do not fold. Folding creates creases that can damage the mat; roll it with the image side facing outward. This makes it easier to fit the game mat into the bag or box and prevents the edges from curling upwards.
  2. When rolling the mat, be careful not to create folds and roll it tightly and compactly.
  3. PVC game mats should be stored vertically. Neoprene game mats should be stored horizontally.
  4. If you don’t use it for many months, we recommend occasionally taking it out, unrolling it, and rolling it back up to prevent the edges from deforming due to long periods of unused storage in the same position.
  5. Avoid high heat, extreme cold, and prolonged exposure to UV rays for days. Prolonged heat in a closed, very hot place or direct sunlight in a car can damage the rubber, causing the fabric to detach or irregularities to appear on the rubber. Consider carefully where you keep your game mat!
